Hi Nancy,
My name is Tyler. I adopted Wishbone (his new name is Big Guy) in 2008 because I was looking for a new cat after I lost my previous one to heart disease. She became paralyzed from the waist down so I had to let her go.
It took me three months to be able to look for a cat again. I searched the entire state to find a new cat and came to the East Greenwich Animal Protection League and looked at both Sweetheart and Wishbone. I left and came back a few weeks later with the decision to adopt Wishbone.
When I came in to adopt him I was told he was not doing well so right away I warmed up to him and asked if I could hold him before I left. The first thing he did was rub his face against mine - it was a done deal! The funny thing is, when I got him I did not realize just how big of a boy he was and I had only a small carrier for him. I had to buy a small dog carrier for him! Since day one of getting him in 2008 he has been the best cat I have owned.
He loves to talk and play and has the most loving personality. He sleeps under the blanket with me at night and sits in my lap all day. He's very pushy for attention, too, and wants to love 24/7. He loves to rip paper while I'm sleeping and when I ask him what he's doing he talks right back, jumps on my lap, and gives me kisses. He's a great cat, the best I could have asked for, and I want to thank everyone for taking the time and effort to make sure he was well before I adopted him.
- Tyler
