Mugsy had very large 'paws' to fill. We got him after our very beloved cat, Rex passed away suddenly with FeLk (tested negative, had the shots, etc) and we were truly brokenhearted.
The first week we had him, we nearly lost our home in the 2010 flood. The basement was destroyed and that's where the cat box/food is located, plus it had to be left open for weeks to dry and air it out, so he (and sister Luna) were pretty much confined to the 2nd floor a lot of the time (we kept joking that he probably wished we'd left him at the pound!).
Mugsy has been a great cat, as we've found with tabbys as a rule. He's very laid back but likes to play and chases his tail when he gets into the bathtub (??). He loves to drink water out of the faucet, even though we bought him one of those fancy drinking fountains, and he loves sleeping right on the radiator or in the greenhouse window (where it's warm!). He lives with his brother Pharoah and sister Luna(tic) and he's not fond of the dog, Shelby, but he's at least (after a year!) stopped hissing/spitting at her just because she happens to look his way. We've always had pound/shelter/strays and they've usually been great pets. He's such a good boy. Thank you again.
