Hi Gail,
Just wanted to forward a couple of cute pictures of Fredo (formerly cuddles) so you can see how well he's doing.  Hope things are good with you.

Hi everyone, here are some pictures of us and the dog at Paul's sister's house in Pennsylvania.  Enjoy!

He was fantastic at the groomers, and looks very handsome now.  He still has his gray eyebrows, and we kept the hair long on top of his head (because it's really fun to play with, like make into a mohawk hairdo and pretend he's Mr. T.), but the rest of him is trimmed down and he looks good.
My boss is going out of town Friday and all next week, so I'll bring him with me to work.  He's fine on his own at home, though.  He jumps up straight in the air when we come home until we take him for  a walk. It's very nice to be greeted that way.
I see in the EGAPL newsletter you gave me there's a group walk in September.  I'm going to put in on the calendar and try like heck to make it down then.
More later, when we get the photos from paul's father from the weekend!

We're having a great time.  We took him for a walk in the woods with 3 big dogs on Sunday- 2 golden retriever/lab mixes and one black lab.  He had such a great time!  He never pooped out. He was like the energizer bunny.  Wish we had photos of him trying to play with them.  We put a 20-foot lead on him in case we had to go after him, but he stayed with the group.  He got kind of a crush on one of the lab/golden mixes and never left his side.
I forgot to tell you we went to the vet last Wednesday and he checked out well.  He's going to the groomer on Saturday, I hope they don't trim off his cute gray eyebrows! Take care, more later.

He is a total doll.  I brought him to work 3 days last week and he was very good, but barks when someone comes into my office.   Since Fredo is pretty good at home on his own, I probably won't bring him in unless both Paul and I are having a long day and won't be home early enough for him.  Everyone loves him here, though.  I went to a lunch meeting Friday and left him behind.
They reported that was he was an angel; just hung around the staff who were here and there was no barking.
A friend of ours gave us a large rope bone,  a thick piece of rope with a knot at each end. He LOVES it; he growls and barks, brings it to one of us to throw. We throw it across the room and he fetches it. Then when you try to take it from him to throw again, he likes to play a little tug-of-war, or shake it like he's shaking an animal he's caught (instincts). Because it's kind of big and heavy, we were worried he'd hurt himself.  We went to the pet store this weekend and found him a plush frisbee, very bright colors with a squeaker inside.  He loves that too!  We have pictures and a short video of him playing with it.  So cute!  He'll play for a few minutes, then take a water break, then play a few minutes more, then lose interest.  Just enough to not wear US out too much!
We took him to a park this weekend and wondered how he'd do off leash. There was a fenced-in little league field and we let him go and he ran, ran and ran!   That clinched it--we now feel it's worth fencing in the entire yard (instead of just replacing some border fencing). Now that is in the budget.
We think he likes his new name Fredo. All our friends agree that Fredo suits him.

Yes, his little eyes always follow one of us around.
He and Paul are getting along very well. When I went to bed a little early last night and heard all this noise downstairs, I found out that it was just  Paul and Fredo playing.
He's great with the neighborhood dogs, which is a relief.  Now that Oliver, the rat terrier, has gone home, there is very little barking.  Fredo is good alone in the house.
On days when I will be at the office past 5 and when Paul has classes,  I will take him to work with me.  Everyone here loves him, and he follows me around like a little shadow when I go to the file room or to the fax machine.  We have a vet appointment on the 15th.   But he's in such great shape, the vet won't need to do much.
Thanks again.  We'll keep in touch.   We'll take pictures and forward them for 'happy endings'.
