Christian and Hunter
Hi Nancy,
I hope you are well. It's been awhile since I last wrote to you and I thought I would quickly catch you up on the "Ahari Boy's, happenin's"
Cute, cute, cute, cute, cute and busy....Weight on Hunter 4 lbs. 12 ounces, Christian (aka Charlie Dickens) 5 lbs. 10 ounces. Was also thinking of Hunter as "Tiny Tim", but nah. I keep calling him "little brother" and he comes running and answering me with his sweet little voice. They have been losing (or chewing) their whiskers, doc said...opposite one to blame! Hunter recently showed some aggression to his bigger brother while carrying a pretend mouse. He pretty much was saying, "Yeah, I'm da man!"
Charlie just looked at him. They seem to have grown overnight, everynight. I'm starting to notice their faces are slimming down, losing their kitten fluff. They both have such beautiful coats, Hunter's more black and shiny, Charlie more blond and fluffy. Still love each other and randomly call things out to each other (I hope they're not talking about me).
Took them yesterday to get their neutering done. Dr. called and said they both did wonderfully, Charlie-no reaction to anesthesia. I went to pick them up and office staff and nurses said they were so cute. As they were coming out of anesthesia, their cages were side by side, they both reached for each other and tried to hug through the bars. When it was okay the doc put them both together again. What a bond! They have been bouncing around all morning and now napping top nest in their condo. What a life!
I'm sending a few more snapshots of them in the sunroom. I went in and Hunter popped his head out of the flowerbox. So funny.
Take care,
Paula

Hi Nancy,
Just wanted to give you an update on the boys. Well, we pretty much love them with all of our hearts. They are growing and getting busier than ever.
Last week, they were scheduled to receive their 2nd distemper, but the doctor decided to postpone a week because the little guy seemed to have a watery eye and some sneezing. They gave me some medicine that has Lycine in it thinking that they could possibly have the herpes virus. He did really great and it seemed to clear up. I also treated Christian and was told that if they start symptoms to give them the medicine to help their immune system fight it.
Well, today we brought them in for their distemper vaccines. They did really well and the doctor was happy to see the weight gain.......drum roll, please.....Christian is up to 4 lbs. 3 ozs....and Hunter is now a whopping 3 1/2 llbs. He has a great appetite and reminds me of the puppy in Disney's 101 Dalmations, you know the one that says, "Mummy, I'm hungry". They have rounded out and we can no longer feel the little hip bones sticking out.
Although their appointments went well, Christian developed a reaction to his distemper vaccine 5 minutes after receiving it. He's okay now, but the doctor wanted to keep him a few hours longer and had to give him a steroid & antihistamine to stop the reaction. We're watching him closely but we think he is out of the woods. From here forward the doctor says we need to medicate him before his vaccinations. Poor little fellow.
So, as I go on and on about these cutey pies..they are so sweet and continue to become the handsome men they were destined to be. They have brought us so much joy.
Sending a few more pics. Hope you are well.
My best,
Paula
